About me
About Unbecoming Notes
Hi, I’m Sthephane. I’m Brazilian, I’m 32, and I write from the soul, without letting vulnerability stop me. Writing has been helping me for 2 years, and more recently I decided to start this project. It fits my new moment: starting everything over, my career, my home, my life.
Why I write
So far, writing brings me peace and keeps me grounded. Recently, after finishing a few notes, I started dreaming every day, and I dream about old trips and moments. The people close to me already hear these thoughts from me all the time (haha), so I thought it would be interesting to share my ideas with more people, put my insights out there, and help others. I think writing is powerful, even in the age of AI. I think I have an important message to share, and I hope to help people with my texts and, who knows, to expand my content in the future.
How I write
I try to write in a clear, simple, and honest way. For me, the most important thing is the message.
I confess that I use AI to help me with technical things and to build this site for example (even though I’m extremely detail-oriented and redo almost everything). It helps me with rules that are already imposed so that my content can grow, rules I honestly question sometimes. But I try to keep it as simple and authentic as possible: my own words (always in my notes), or everything needs a source and a direct quote, like the one I used in my first note.
My photos
I have a small archive of photos that I think will be useful for this project. I spent hours in my gallery to see what could be useful, and at the moment I have 186 photos from all my trips and from moments of happiness, frustration, and introspection. Even though I don’t love my photos, I want to use what I already have, and I’m trying to get better at it.
It has been almost 2 years since I stopped using social media, except WhatsApp and a Facebook account with 50 friends (mostly family). Since then, I stopped taking pictures of myself. Now many of those views have a meaning, and I just want to write about them.
Writing does me good, and I genuinely hope to help you. ♥
